ETUDE IN VIVO DE L’ACTIVITE ANTI-ULCEREUSE d’Olax humbertii (OLACACEAE)

Resume
In view of ceaselessly increasing threat disappearance of the vegetal species and the insufficiency of data about malagasy medicinal plant research, the aim of this study was to evaluate anti-ulcerogenic effect of leaf depigmented hydroalcoholic extract (DHAE) of Olax humbertii through in vivo pharmacological tests. The administration of the DHAE at the different doses (from 25 mg/kg to 300 mg/kg) inhibited in dose-dependent manner the gastric ulceraation produced through restraint tying up (stress), alcohol (ethanol) and pylorus ligature (restraint SHAY ulcer). Furthermore, this extract was able to decrease the volume and the acidity of secreted gastric juice. The results allowed to explain and to confirm empirical efficacy of this plant in traditional medicine.
