The aim of this study is to provide evidence on the aphrodisiac property of the root of the SR 01 plant, used traditionally versus the tiredness by bioguided tests in the animal model. Administration of a single dose of the crude and aqueous extract at 200 mg/kg to male mice increases their number of mounts. Daily administration of the chloroform extract for 7 days at 200 mg/kg provoke the same effect at mice and increase the weight of seminal vesicles to castrated male rats. In addition, the crude extract, injected as bolus i.v. injection provoke an erection reflex to mice and diminution of the blood pressure in the rat. Our results demonstrate that the active fraction may be through the stimulation of cholinergic receptor. The results confirm the activity aphrodisiac of the root of plant SR 01.
