Resume

The potassium content of the plant is high and varies between 0.016 and 0.064%. The obtained results showed that the elemental concentrations in the decoction increase with the amount of used plant, the temperature and the duration. The concentration value of strontium is lower than 14 mg/L (MDL). The toxic elements concentrations measured in the decoction are low and in the order of 160 mg/L, 6.45 mg/L for the barium and the lead respectivity ( 1 g of decocted plant for 100 mL water). The same decoction contains 5.59 mg/L of Ca, 346 mg/L of Mn, 4.05 mg/L of Fe and 130 mg/L of Cu. When using the ordinary posology, these elements do not present theoretically any problem on heart fonction. Besides, the decoction has 520 mg/L of K. This high content of potassium may cause heart problem. According to the experimentation carried out on the frog heart, cardiac stopping may accur if the potassium concentration value is in the order of 1100 mg/L. Therefore, The plant decoction would have mortal effect in the case of over uptake. Never theless, intoxication is reversible.
