Quartz is a thermoluminescent material which can be used for dating and/or for dosimetry. This material has been used since the 60s for dating samples like pottery, flint, etc., but the method is still subject to some improvement. One of the problem of thermoluminescence dating is the estimation of the lifetime of the used peak .
